1978-1979 FA Cup Semi Final Third Player Shirt
This third shirt was used by Liverpool only in two matches - the 1978-1979 FA Challenge Cup Semi Final 2-2 draw match against Man Utd at Maine Road on 31 March 1979 and the sooner replay at Goodison Park on 4 April 1979. There are absolutely no replicas produced for this yellow third shirt, no matter long or short sleeved. One interesting point to note is that both Liverpool and Man Utd did not wear their traditional red home shirts.

This yellow shirt was worn in the FA Cup Semi Final first-tie played at Maine Road with a 2-2 draw with Man Utd.
Viewing from the inner side, we can clearly see both UMBRO motif and Liverbird are fully embroidered.
Though this shirt is a one-off match worn shirt with no replicas produced, the distintive features are still the same as other UMBRO era Liverpool player shirts - both UMBRO motif and Liverbird are fully embroidered.
Red machine-stitched cloth type numbers are used for this shirt. Collar size tag is printed in words "OSM" instead of numeric inches.
