| Since Liverpool returned to Adidas brand kits in season 2006-2007, this is the fifth away shirt released, and spanned for single season 2008-2009. Normally Liverpool's shirts have Carlsberg sponsorship logo except for UEFA competitions played in Norway or France. Strangely, when Liverpool played against PSV Eindhoven in the 2008-2009 Champions League First Group Phase on 9 December 2008, the grey away shirt has no Carlsberg sponsorship appled on it. |

Note that Alvaro Arbeloa was named on in the starting lineup. However, he wore a short sleeved match shirt during the match. |
