2009-2010 Home Player Shirt (Chinese Carlsberg)
This is a second to none home player shirt only produced for use for the 2009-2010 season English Premier League home match against Chelsea on 2 May 2010.
Carlsberg has been with Liverpool since 1992, and this is the first and only time a Chinese version Carlsberg sponsor logo is applied on the shirt, but why?
In order to know why a Chinese Carlsberg is used on our shirt, we must start the story from this poster found in Peoples' Republic of China.
Actually as early as in April 2010, someone posted out this poster in a Mainland China Liverpool Fans Forum. The Chnese characters read as follows:-
Carlsberg x Liverpool
A Salute to World Expo,
A Passionate Night in China.
1st May 2010 23:00
Liverpool VS Chelsea

Clearly we can see the Chinese version Carlsberg sponsor on an out-dated poster which shows our seasons 2006-2008 home shirt. Xabi Alonso has left us already but it appears in this poster.

Moreover, the match day was the old one - 1 May 2010. We were rescheduled to play Chelsea on 2 May 2010 after we eliminated Benfica in Europa League quarter final in aggregate. This implies that the idea of having Chinese Carlsberg on our shirt was leaked out in China as early as 8 April 2010!
When it came to 28 April 2010, the latest news section of Liverpool's Official website announced and confirmed the fact that a Chinese Carlsbeg will be applied on Liverpool's last home fixture shirt on the season. The reason behind coincides with the aforesaid poster - World Expo being held in Shanghai of China and Liverpool being the only city of UK exhibiting.

This confims the earlier rumour as asserted in the poster.
On 2 May 2010, the mach day for season 2009-2010  English Premier League Week 37 fixture between Liverpool and Chelsea, Liverpool's official website reiterated again the news of applying Chinese Carlsberg on the players' home shirt.

Moreover, a photoshop mocked-up shirt picture with Chinese Carlsberg sponsor is shown.

Fake Alert! Hong Kong based DIY "Chinese Carlsberg" added on plain formotion player stock shirts!
Be cautious when surfing through the internet auctions and meeting with Hong Kong seller's so-called "player issue" shirts with the Chinese Carlsberg sponsor.
Remember, Liverpool did not publicly releases any Chinese Carlsberg shirts as commercial merchandise.
These "player issue" shirts are not officially the same thing as the genuine player shirts. In fact, what is cunningly doen here is that they bought some plain non-sponsored plain formotion player stock shirts from ebay, and then make use of some computer CAD programmes to cut-out the guestimated "Chinese Carlsberg" PU-maerial transfer sponsor.
No matter in texture, actual details / dimension, actual positioning measurements of such counterfeit are pathetic.

Don't be misled to think that you get an genuine article buying from these Hong Kong based sellers.
